Career Opportunities: Roles and Requirements

Secunda recruits for a full complement of crew for their offshore support vessels. A minimum of three years of experience on offshore vessels, including anchor handling and towing, is typically required for senior roles.

• Master: The overall commander of the vessel, responsible for safety, security, and operations. Requires a Master Mariner Certification.
• Chief Officer: Second in command and the designated Ship Security Officer. Requires a Chief Officer Certification.
• Second Officer: Responsible for navigational watchkeeping and safety duties. Requires a Watchkeeping Mate Unlimited Certification.
• Chief Engineer: The manager of the technical department, responsible for all machinery. Requires a First Class Engineer Motorship Certification.
